Workforce Housing

The CDA owns and/or manages properties where rents are set at or below HUD Fair Market Rents. These properties range from newer townhomes to older single family homes. When a property is available for rent, it will be advertised online or in print.

General requirements for renting:

  • Income restrictions apply to some units
  • Application fee for all household members over the age of 18
  • Credit/criminal/rental history check
  • Income greater than 2-3 times the rent amount

Please note: there may be income restrictions for some units, but rent is NOT based on income. Rent is based on the unit size and is generally a little lower than market rate rent.

Affordable Housing, Tax Credit/Section 42 Housing, Unsubsidized Housing---these are all terms that could mean the rent is set at or below HUD Fair Market Rents. Always clarify with the rental agent what program it is and what eligibility criteria will need to be met.
