FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS' CLUB CLASSES
The Scott County CDA's Homebuyers' Club gives buyers the tools for successful homeownership. Some topics covered during the Homebuyers' Club include:
- Understanding, reviewing, and improving credit
- Shopping for a realtor, loan officer, and home inspector
- Comparing and choosing the best mortgage loan
- Down Payment Assistance programs
- Home maintenance
- And much, much more!
The Scott County CDA's Homebuyers' Club uses the Home Stretch® curriculum and meets most first-time homebuyer education requirements. Please contact your lender prior to registering for the Homebuyers' Club to ensure that it is approved for your loan.
First Time Homebuyer's Class-IN SPANISH

Located at Shakopee Police Station, 485 Gorman Street, Shakopee
First Time Homebuyer's Classes - (location TBD)

Participants may be eligible for a grant from the Scott County CDA. The grant never needs to be repaid and can be used toward down payment or closing costs. Learn more about the Homebuyers' Club Grant Criteria.
Beginning January 1, 2019, to be eligible for a CDA grant, you must be a graduate of Scott County CDA's Homebuyer's Club and have completed a minimum of 1 pre-purchase counseling session with a Scott County CDA Counselor prior to signing a purchase agreement. Please contact our office for more information.
Do you have a signed Purchase Agreement and Loan Estimate/Transaction Summary from your lender? Have you completed the Scott County CDA Homebuyers Club and met with a certified Homeownership Advisor, or will have before closing? Have you reviewed the eligibility criteria and determined that you qualify? Then it's time to apply for a Homebuyers' Club Grant. The Scott County CDA is no longer accepting grant applications for 2018 closing dates.
Homebuyers Club Grant applications can take up to 30 days to be approved, so it's important to submit your completed application at least 30 days before your scheduled closing. Grant application must be complete with all required documents and signatures (including one from your lender) before they will be reviewed.
