HOMEBUYERS CLUB CLASSES
The Scott County CDA's Homebuyers Club gives buyers the tools for successful homeownership. Some topics covered during the Homebuyers Club include:
- Understanding, reviewing, and improving credit
- Shopping for a realtor, loan officer, and home inspector
- Comparing and choosing the best mortgage loan
- Do-it-yourself home maintenance
- And much, much more!
Homebuyers Club classes are offered quarterly. View the 2014 Homebuyers Club dates. Enrollment is limited. Download the Homebuyers Club registration materials.
The Scott County CDA's Homebuyers Club uses the Home Stretch® curriculum and meets most first-time homebuyer education requirements. Please contact your lender prior to registering for the Homebuyers Club to ensure that it is approved for your plan.
Participants may be eligible for a grant from the
Scott County CDA. The grant never needs to be repaid and can be used

Homebuyer counseling provides buyers one-on-one
support during the homebuying process. A Homeownership Specialist can
help you to:
- Review your credit report and address any barriers to homeownership
- Establish how much you can afford
- Identify loan and down payment assistance programs
- Create an Action Plan to accomplish your homeownership goals
- And much, much more!

The Scott County CDA participates in the START UP & STEP UP through the Minnesota Communities Participation Program and the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program. More information is available from Minnesota Housing.
